Lindsay and Warren's Wedding...

Here are a few images from Lindsay and Warren's fabulous wedding at the Petroleum Club in downtown Houston. Wedding planner Robert Shipman of Haute Soiree did a great job of putting everything together and making sure everyone had a wonderful time.

From the Arctic Circle to Las Vegas to....Ledbetter, Texas???

One of the best things about being a photographer is getting to travel all over the world. It's hard to believe just a few weeks ago I was photographing Paul and Sylvia's wedding ceremony in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden - about 200 miles north of the Arctic circle. Then, it was on to Las Vegas, and then, I find myself in Ledbetter, Texas on my way back from Austin. What's in Ledbetter? Well, nothing really. But I did spot this abandoned tow truck left in some weeds behind an antique store. Look at that tree growing up from beneath the truck. How old is that tree - 20 years maybe?

It's about as far from Vegas as is possible to get, I think!

This is my second time to post photos of an abandoned truck on my blog. I'm not sure why I like to take photos of abandoned trucks....

W.H.I.V.S.I.V.

This past weekend was one of the most fun I've ever had as I got to photograph a private party in Las Vegas! The city was even more wild than usual as this was the big Oscar de la Hoya/Floyd Mayweather fight weekend. Celebrities from all over the country were in town for the big boxing match.

Here is the view from the balcony of the exclusive House of Blues high atop Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino where just some of the activities occurred. Unfortunately, this is the only image I can show you because, as you know, What Happens in Vegas.....

Scotland, Sweden and Morocco Update

I have uploaded images from the wedding ceremony in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden onto my regular webite. (www.newhorizonweddingimagery.com) The ceremony was so unique, so different, that I hope everyone will visit my site to see the images. It was so much fun to experience such a wedding ceremony.

The entire chapel was made out of ice! The seats, windows, altar, everything! There was not even carpet on the ground. The ground was ice too! We all had to be very careful walking.

The temperature never gets anywhere close to above freezing for about 9 months of the year, even during the daytime, so there is no danger of the chapel melting. The season ends sometime in late April of each year, then begins again the following September when the temperature remains below freezing for the next 9 months.

I have not had time to upload the images from the reception in Morocco yet, or the images from Edinbourg Castle in Scotland. I hope you will enjoy the images from Sweden for now and I will have the others up as soon as possible. However, I have a lot of weddings to edit that I must complete first.

The Big European Wedding Adventure Begins!

I leave for the airport today to photograph Sylvia and Paul's amazing European wedding! We will be shooting Engagement photos at several Scottish castles, followed a couple of days later by a wedding ceremony in Kiruna, Sweden at an Ice Hotel. Then, a couple of days after the ceremony, the entire wedding party and guests will travel to Marrakech, Morocco for the magnificent reception at a villa on the Meditteranean.

Please visit my blog over the next 2 weeks as I will try to update the blog with a description of the events and possibly even some photos.

I will be back in Houston on April 12th, and I'm sure I will have tons of great photographs to share with everyone!

Flowers

Photographing flowers is fun because nature has already done most of the work... You can just look around for some nice locations, try to make sure the sun is behind you, and start snapping.

Here are two images from a general store in Chapell Hill, one of my favorite small towns to visit.

Downtown Houston and Minute Maid Park

On Friday I photographed Lindsay and Warren in Minute Maid Park for their engagement photos. You can tell we had a great time!

Real Astros fans on Homeplate!

It was Warren's idea to try this scoreboard photo. Thanks for the great image!

Lindsay and Warren are the greatest couple and I can't wait to photograph their wedding coming up in May!

Tunisian Wedding Photos

Many people have asked me to tell them more about these photographs and the country of Tunisia. (To see the entire wedding, please visit the Photography page of my website)

Tunisia is a nation in northern Africa, located between Libya and Algeria. The famous Roman city of Carthage was located in Tunisia, along the Meditteranean coast.

Located far inland are the ancient Roman ruins of Dougga. The Capitol building can be seen behind Erin and Christian in many of these photographs. It is hard to believe that these buildings have been standing out there in the desert for over 2,000 years. Photographing them was one of the highlights of my career.

Do you remember the film "The English Patient?" Tunisia is where the desert scenes for that movie were filmed.

Erin and Christian actually work in Tunisia and are the most wonderful couple anyone could hope to work with. They are kind, generous, and incredibly adventurous. Thank you both for including me in your wonderful wedding. I will remember Tunisia forever...

Picking Pumpkins for Halloween!

Since I've only been blogging for about a week, I thought it would be fun to post some photographs from past photo shoots. Here are a few images of beautiful little Laura as she was picking out pumpkins for Halloween!
